I've been forced to neglect the club for more than a month now, due to moving, school, finding a job, and general craziness (though I'll admit it was nice to take a break from the club for awhile ).

This doesn't mean I'm abandoning it, by any means. But I'm going to put things on hold until I'm completely moved in, caught up in my reading for class, and have better access to an internet connection.

So that means:
* I'm probably not going to reply to your notes right away.
* My hastily put together contest is on HOLD.
* The kiriban is on HOLD.
* I'll try to upload any new submissions, but no promises.
* The same goes for new members.

I'll do everything I can do be a decent admin again. I'm not giving up on this club just yet, okay? Ta!

* KIRIBAN *
~rebootclub is getting near the 30,000 mark! That sounds like an important number, doesn't it? It's big, anyways. Whoever can get me proof they have the 30000th hit (or the closest to 30000) will receive one of two things: (1) their own interview, to be posted here on ~rebootclub, or (2) their very own ReBoot icon/pendant! Well, if they prototypes work out. If that doesn't happen, the winner will get commissioned fanart from myself, ~boggart.

So, how do you prove you hit the big 30000? Send me a screengrab. PC users can get a screengrab by pressing the "Print Scrn" button on the upper right of your keyboard. Mac users can use the apple key, shift, and 4 on their keyboard. They can also use the program "Grab" that comes with the Mac. Copy the image into a graphics program like Photoshop, Painter, or even good ol' Paint. You then save the file as a bmp, png, gif, jpg, etc. Then you can either e-mail me the screengrab (enchantress51 at hotmail dot com) or upload it to a site like Photobucket (which supports all the aforementioned file formats), or your deviant Scraps if you prefer, and send the link in a note to ~rebootclub

We’ve all wondered, at one time or another: What would the characters of ReBoot look like if they existed in our world, as real flesh and blood people? Would Bob still be blue? Would Daemon have a belly button? Might Matrix bear an uncanny resemblance to Vin Diesel?

Now this is the great part. You think your drawing skills aren’t up to snuff? No problem. I’ll be allowing photomanipulation! That’s right, no drawing required. Break out your copy of Photoshop, Paint, whatever graphics program you prefer. Don’t have one? Just run a Google search for “Free Photo editing program”. There is a plethora of free software to choose from (though I’ve heard good things about GIMP).

CHALLENGE:
1. Portray, either through drawing/painting or photomanipulation (or a combination of the two) a cannon ReBoot character as a real person (real as in the User world, or our world).
2. Cannon refers to any established character that has made a notable appearance on the show (comic-only characters do not count). Examples would include Bob, Captain Capacitor, Mouse, Frisket, etc.

GENERAL RULES:
1. Only members of ~rebootclub can submit entries. If you'd like to join, please see this journal: [link]
2. Entries must be rated no higher than PG-13. That means no excessive violence, nudity, drug use, or offensive language.
3. Only two entries are allowed per person.
4. Up to two people may jointly work on an entry, but only one person will receive the prize.
5. You may submit previously created work, if it hasn't already been uploaded to ~rebootclub.
6. All media is welcome, including mixing traditional media (paintings, drawings, etc.) with digital manipulations.

TRADITIONAL MEDIA/HANDRAWN RULES:
1. If you use a photo of an actual person as a reference, please include a link to it in your original submission, if possible. If the reference photo is taken from deviantART, please follow any rules the original artist has about their work.

PHOTOMANIPULATION RULES:
1. You may use any celebrity photo or image of a real person found via search engine as a base. You can even use a photo of yourself, if you're feeling brave. A link to the base photo would be appreciated, but not required.
2. If you use any resources (photos, brushes, background, etc.) from deviantART, you must link back to them in your gallery submission, even if the original artist does not request it. You must also follow all other stipulations the artist requires in the description of the original work.
3. If you are using resources from other websites that require documentation, please include it in the deviation description.
4. If you are submitting a previously created manip, and you cannot credit all the resources used, I may not be able to take your entry.

SUBMITTING YOUR ENTRY:
1. Upload your submission to your dA gallery.
2. If use are doing any photomanipulation, make sure to include links to your resources are included in the deviation description.
3. Note ~rebootclub with a link to your deviation. Title the note something like “Doppleganger Contest”.
4. Also be sure to include any description you would like included in the contest entry. All resources links will be included regardless.

PRIZE (UPDATED):
The winner will receive a free commissioned fanart from one of our members, *jameson9101322! It has to be ReBoot, of course, but any other details will be left to the discretion of *jameson9101322 and the winner.

DEADLINE:
The evening of Monday August 18th, 2008. That gives ya’ll more than a month. Hopefully, everyone will be able get their entries in before they get caught up with school.
